ILOILO CITY, Philippines – In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Callbox reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare through a comprehensive medical mission aimed at fostering the well-being of the residents of Barangay Loboc, Lapuz. The event, themed “Empowering Lives, One Community at a Time,” was held at the Loboc-Lapuz Gym on February 25, 2024, marking a day of health, wellness, and community service.
The initiative provided a range of health services including medical checkups, distribution of free medicines, Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) tests, eye examinations, and the provision of eyeglasses. A special feeding program for the children was also a highlight of the day, bringing smiles to their faces.
Further extending its support to the community, Callbox also donated essential medical equipment to the Barangay Hall of Loboc, such as blood pressure apparatus, weighing scales, and digital thermometers, ensuring lasting health benefits for the residents.
In partnership with the Barangay Loboc, Lapuz Sangguniang Barangay Officials, and the Panay LIONS Club, the medical mission brought together Callbox volunteers who assisted with registration, blood pressure monitoring, medicine distribution, and the feeding program.
In an interview, Ronadhel Aponte, Human Resource and Administrative Manager at Callbox, shared insights into the motivation behind the medical mission: “Issues such as lacking health literacy and limited access to quality healthcare have long challenged our communities. Inspired by these challenges, we embarked on a medical mission, a venture that is both fulfilling and rewarding. It serves as a testament to our organization’s commitment to enriching and empowering communities, with a particular focus on supporting marginalized and underprivileged groups. Integrating this mission into our 20th-anniversary celebrations highlights our dedication not only to achieving the company’s business goals and success but also to strengthening our engagement in community service and social responsibility. This approach aims to create an intangible and lasting impact within the community.”
